In need of help and counseling or having challenging questions related to occult and spirituality?

Our spiritual crisis Helpline (Rajatiedon auttava puhelin in Finnish) is working to help people who are in need of counseling, have sense of wonder in the front of uncanny phenomena related to spirituality or fringe sciences and for those who have encountered helplessness, fear or anxiety or, in the worst case, are in crisis and do not know who to contact related to their paranormal or spiritual experiences (often also called transformative experiences). This can happen if events and phenomena are getting overwhelming in the terms of interpretation, or if the experiencer doesn’t have any model of explanation for what he or she has experienced from any previous experiences. You can tell the telephone counselor about your experience or ask for your opinion on matters related to spirituality or fringe knowledge. The service is voluntary. Rajatiedon Yhteistyö ry is responsible for the work done in the Helpline.

Are you interested in trainings for telephone counselors?

Rajatiedon Yhteistyö ry has founded the Helpline at the end of 1994. Since then, trained emergency personnel have already graduated from multiple training sessions. However the interests and circumstances for many of our volunteering counselors have been changing during last 25 years, and the number of volunteers has dwindled. The previous training event, a seminar on psychological first aid and paranormal experiences was held on August 2020, and the next course is planned for May 2021. Trainings are held in Finnish.

on Thursdays and Sundays from 18.00 to 22.00.

Calls to the Helpline only cost the regular call charge. For example, if you have unlimited calls in your phone operator’s plan, contacting to our Helpline is for free.

The calls are answered by trained counselor personnel.

Our counselors are committed to the following policies:

- The caller can chat anonymously, confidentially and free of charge.
- The caller and his or her experiences are treated with respect without pressure or loaded approaches.
- The on-call staff will provide information and advice as requested by the caller.
- Our helpline personnel participate in ongoing training and work supervision, and are bound by professional secrecy
- Counselors also have the right to remain anonymous.

Other helpful activities in Finland

In connection with personal and mental growth or other life situations, mental crises or so-called “Spiritual Emergency”. Such situations may often be diagnosed or associated with psychiatric illnesses. A community for mental crises, JoutSEN – Spiritual Emergence Network Finland, has been established in Finland and operates as part of the international ISEN network.

SEN Finland ry shares information, organizes events and provides peer support in the process of integrating intellectual experiences. The starting point for action is the idea that the crisis is seen as part of a profound process of change – an opportunity for integration.
